CRC Girls Lacrosse Mission Statement

To provide a fun, safe, and positive learning experience for each athlete that promotes development of individual skills and tactics, teamwork, sportsmanship, and an understanding and appreciation of the game of womens lacrosse.

CRC Girls Lacrosse provides opportunities for players between the ages of 5 and 14 in five age groups (defined below).  The spring 2010 season begins with player evaluations in February for the Lightning, Midget, and Junior age divisions, which participate in the travel league sponsored by the Maryland Youth Lacrosse Association (MYLA).  Games for these age groups begin the first week in April and run through the first weekend in June. Game days and times for Lightning, Midget and Junior vary and include weekday and/or weekend games. The two Tyker age groups (In-House - no evaluations) begin with Opening Day, Saturday, March 13th from 2:00PM to 3:30PM at the fields at Mays Chapel and run through the end of May. The Tyker season is played Monday and Wednesday evenings at Mays Chapel. 

All registration is being done on-line utilizing this customized web site developed by SportzWave.   One walk-in registration date has been scheduled for Saturday, December 12th in the Activity Room of Warren E.S. from 9:00AM to 11:00AM. The registration fee for girls playing in the Spring of 2010 at the Lightning, Midget, or Junior level is $125.00 per child.  The registration fee for those participating at the Tyker level is $75.00 per child.    

Field and coach availability, and optimal number of players per team will limit the total number of registrations able to be accepted for each age group.  All available spots will be filled on a first-come first-serve basis.  Anticipating that demand may exceed the number of players that can be accommodated, you are encouraged to register early.  In the event that registration closes for a particular age group, you will be placed on a wait list in the order in which your registration is received and will be notified if space is available prior to the first player evaluation or practice.  Players will be placed on teams according to birth date and ability.

It is the policy of CRC Girls Lacrosse that all players play in their age appropriate divisions.  The age criterion is defined by MYLA.  You must be 5 on September 1^st, 2009 to be eligible for the Spring 2010 season.  Please refer to the following grid:

TYKER 5-6: September 1, 2002 - August 31, 2004

TYKER 7-8: January 1, 2001 - August 31, 2002

LIGHTNING: January 1, 1999 - December 31, 2000

MIDGET: January 1, 1997 - December 31, 1998

JUNIOR: January 1, 1995 - December 31, 1996

*For Juniors, please remember that a player is ineligible to play MYLA if she plays lacrosse in High School at any level.
